Unique Fauna & Flora abound in this bird-watchers and wildlife paradise. Bateleur Nature Reserve is famous for its SATOA accredited Stamvrug Hiking Trails, consisting of seven different circular- and day trails, laid out amongst the Waterberg Kloofs and Escarpments.
Stay in self-catering secluded farmhouses, log cabins, or bush camps.
Enjoy hiking, game viewing, bird-watching (Kloof Bird Hide), mountain biking, swimming, fishing (catch and release).
After reporting to reception, you are on your own at Bateleur Nature Reserve. Once settled at the accommodation of your choice, you are requested to restrict driving to an absolute minimum. Bateleur Nature Reserve is best explored on foot.
You have the freedom to explore the gorges and rocky krantzes of the Waterberg, or go swimming in the clear bilharzia-free rock pools.
The Reserve offers you the freedom to be on your own in the bush to live and explore as you wish. In so doing, gain a more intimate knowledge of, and be entertained by the Waterberg's unique eco-system.
The area is classified as malaria-free. Summer days are warm to hot (low humidity) with thunderstorms. Winter days are mild and sunny. The nights can be chilly.
Bateleur Nature Reserve is not a Resort.
Batereur Nature Reserve maintains a very strict view of visitors disturbing other visitors in any way particularly so with Sound Systems.

Kloof Bush Camp
Kloof Base Camp Unit is part of the popular Kloof Base Camp Complex. It has its own adjoining bathroom and kitchenette, gas appliances, crockery, cutlery, linen and, private braai facilities Ample firewood and hot-water is provided. The camp's close proximity to the Kloof, the Kloof Dam, the Swimming Hole, and the Rock Pools set the scene for the ultimate Waterberg experience. Kloof Bush Camp # 3C sleeps five people. The rates fare R 85.00 p p p n, or a minimum of R 250.00 for the Unit per night, for normal two night weekends, or weekdays. Special conditions apply to Long Weekends, where visitors are required to stay, or pay, for the number of nights available over such weekends.

Gum Cottage
This quaint two bedroomed Cottage sleeps up to five and is situated among huge Bluegum trees. It has a spacious lounge/dining room with an open fireplace and outside braai. It shares a reservoir/swimming pool with LoneHill Lodge. From this secluded cottage, several short hikes can be enjoyed. Birders in particular, enjoy the Gum Cottage, being close to the Lilly dam and the Kloof Bird Hide. The rate for Gum Cottage # 1 is R 100.00 p p p n, or a minimum of R 300.00 for the Unit per night, for normal two night weekends, or weekdays.
